Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This marks his initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
